AIDS Strategy Advocacy & Policy, 2010-2015

Founder & Director of this global community-based consultancy

In 2010 I established and lead a new community-based consultancy with offices in the UK and South Africa. It is now run by two of the early consultants from South Africa and Vietnam. From 2010 I brought on over 30 highly skilled associates from Africa, Asia, Europe and the US – most of them living with HIV or directly affected by the epidemic. Together we worked across a broad range of projects, selected to impact the quality of sustainable work at country level, and focused on AIDS, TB, malaria, maternal and child health, sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence, gender equality; and working with a broad range of clients (multilaterals, governments, civil society and private sectors).

Major projects include:

  • Resource mobilization (eg PMNCH, for Global Fund, including Communities Delegation);
  • Research and evaluations (Standard Chartered Bank, The Lancet-UNAIDS Post-2015 Commission, MSF, UNAIDS, UN Women);
  • Strategic planning (eg UNICEF-WHO PMTCT IATT, mothers2mothers, MTV);
  • Design of new entities (Robert Carr civil society Network Fund, Women4GlobalFund).
